The Summer/Resort 2021 collection was created with the intention of having a 'Capsule Shoe Wardrobe.' What is a capsule wardrobe you might ask? To answer that, I must first tell you that this year due to the pandemic I decided to move to Goa with my family. We wanted to uncomplicate our life, allow our dog to roam in the open spaces, we wanted to breathe better, and otherwise live more mindfully.

I wanted to live a simpler life, which meant simplifying my wardrobe as well. I wanted to make it style-focused, manageable, and consistent; choosing a single aesthetic for the season. To marry that idea, I created a capsule footwear line that follows the idea of ‘less is more,’ keeping limited shoe styles to match multiple curated looks.

You don’t need more to be stylish. In fact, if you have lesser choices, you will be more creative with your looks. I realized I wasn’t even wearing 70% of my wardrobe. I was experiencing what you call ‘Decision Fatigue’ and my final look was highly influenced by the fast fashion industry tricking us into believing what is essential to have, rather than exploring our personal style.

To now explain, A Capsule Wardrobe is a practice of editing your wardrobe down to your favorite clothes, shoes and accessories (that fit your lifestyle, fashion aesthetic, and body type) while you remix them regularly, creating personal well-styled looks and thus, shop more intentionally.

I took just 30% of the clothes in my wardrobe that I wore often and packed them in a bag. I also did some serious online shopping for quality durable clothing that was trendy and that would fit my new lifestyle in Goa. Finally, I designed a shoe collection that would go with all the curated clothes, creating a Lean Wardrobe - that included clothing, shoes, and accessories.
